Action pressure relief products help manage positional pain during CT procedures

Available in the UK from Central Medical Supplies (CMS), the Action Products range of pressure relief solutions is designed to help manage positional pain during interventional CT procedures.
Positional pain is common in patients who spend long periods on the interventional CT table. Patient complaints centre on the hardness of the table and their position during the procedure and, while moderate sedation may be given to manage procedural pain, positional pain is not always alleviated. Proper cushioning can help manage this, with no recognised impact on image quality, says CMS. Gel pads support the patient evenly across the horizontal plane on which the patient is lying, resulting in better management in those not receiving sedation or experiencing positional pain.
The Action Products range includes table overlays, head pads, heel protectors and chest rolls. Proprietary Akton viscoelastic polymer used for the pressure ulcer prevention products is designed to reduce pressure and mitigate shear forces, and is clinically proven to reduce the risk of pressure injuries. The polymer is reusable, does not support bacterial growth and is not made with natural rubber latex. It is hypoallergenic and will not leak or flow if punctured.
