AI reporting system is backed by automatic calculation of BI-RADS scores

Smart Reporting’s advanced AI-powered radiology reporting system acts as a second reader in the screening process. The company says its mission is to optimise the breast cancer screening workflow, making it faster and more accurate while improving radiologist efficiency and patient outcomes.
After a radiologist reviews breast images, the AI analyses them and provides its assessment. If the AI’s findings align with that of the radiologist, the case is automatically finalised. This allows one radiologist to complete the screening case alone, which is in line with upcoming practices in the UK. The system is equipped with real-time assistance for the latest BI-RADS guidelines, including the automatic calculation of BI-RADS scores. This ensures that radiologists adhere to established standards. Reports are enhanced with a breast quadrant map and clear markers of lesion locations, visually supporting radiologists in making more informed decisions and improving communication with the medical team. In addition, the system automatically generates essential data for medical registries and, for normal findings, it automatically generates a zero-interaction report, which the radiologist can quickly review and finalise.
Smart Reporting comments: “Our advanced system reduces radiologists’ cognitive load and provides them with the tools to work more efficiently and accurately. With features like automated BI-RADS scoring, multimedia reports and seamless data generation, we’re transforming the future of breast cancer care. By reducing workload and ensuring greater precision, AI is not only improving workflow, it is enhancing patient outcomes worldwide.”
