Siemens is again backing a pump-priming research bursary, the BIR/Siemens Research Award, to provide support to researchers in the fields of radiology, radiotherapy, oncology, radiography or medical physics.

The award will provide £1,000 for initial financial support to enable researchers to develop proposals with the aim of attracting further funding from external sources.  It is made in memory of Sir James Mackenzie Davidson, a pioneer in British radiology.

Siemens plc (healthcare division) managing director Peter Harrison said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with the BIR again in this annual award to help medical imaging researchers in the vital initial development stage of a research proposal.”
