Avon Breast Screening renews its PACS contract

Avon Breast Screening (ABS) has extended its managed service contract with Insignia Medical Systems for five years. ABS is one of the largest breast screening departments in the country and first signed with Insignia in 2010. The programme is coordinated through the Avon Breast Screening Unit based at Bristol Breast Care Centre at Southmead Hospital.
Insignia supplies the centre with its InSight Mammo PACS solution as well as workflows specifically developed for symptomatic and assessment screening.
Acting superintendent Clare McLachlan said: “We chose Insignia because it provides excellent support with regular updates. The company is constantly improving the software to reflect new technologies such as tomosynthesis, and the software is easy to use, facilitating film reading of mammograms.”
