BIR recognises notable contributions to radiology

At the BIR Annual Congress the Barclay Medal was awarded to Dr Manish Devendra Mair and his team from the department of otorhinolaryngology at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for his paper published in the British Journal of Radiology (BJR). Dr Mair received the award at the congress for the paper ‘A systematic review and meta-analysis comparing the diagnostic accuracy of initial RT-PCR and CT scan in suspected COVID-19 patient.’ Sponsored by Rothband, it was presented by Dr Redla and Rothband managing director Paul Dixon.

The Barclay Medal is awarded annually to the author whose contribution to BJR has been a piece of original research of special merit, contributing to the science and practice of radiology.
