Blackheath’s CR reader will aid reconstructions

Senior radiographer Nigel Bainbridge with BMI Blackheath Hospital’s Fujifilm FCR Capsula.
Fujifilm has installed an FCR Capsula single plate CR reader at BMI Blackheath Hospital in London, a 68-bed acute general hospital situated across two sites in the heart of Blackheath village. It is part of BMI London, which has 15 hospitals and outpatient clinics spanning the capital.
The FCR Capsula will support the hospital’s orthopaedic service, in particular Mr A F Groom who has a keen interest in limb reconstruction.
Also installed was an FCR IP long leg cassette and a mobile long view grid holder, so the orthopaedic clinic now has a dedicated CR reader featuring automatic stitching software, enabling the display of the entire spine or lower extremities in a single image.
