Bon Secours Hospital, Cork, installs DR 600 and pair of mobiles
Bon Secours Hospital, Cork, has installed a DR 600 digital x-ray room from Agfa Radiology Solutions. The complete and integrated ceiling-suspended system replaces an analogue x-ray unit in the radiology department. In addition, the hospital has purchased two DR 100s motorised mobile units to be used for out-of-department imaging.
The hospital is part of the Bon Secours Health Systems CLG, Ireland’s largest independent hospital group. It carries out more than 100,000 radiology examinations every year and has over 30 radiographers.
“When we needed to replace our x-ray room, the DR 600 was the clear choice,” said the hospital’s Ciaran Walsh. “It ticked all the boxes for functionality and has advanced software options and features that we appreciate, including some that make reporting on radiation dose easier. The soft ware also includes radiation
dose parameters for each examination. Furthermore, with 30 radiographers using the system, we needed a reliable, efficient and easy-to-use solution. The simplicity of the user interface on the DR 600 tube and the auto-positioning make operation seamless.
“We were really surprised at the value of the system and we ended up bundling the system together with two DR 100s mobile units to replace our three old CR mobile units.”
Walsh added that staff love the new systems, which have proved to be a game changer for orthopaedics patients and for mobile radiography. In addition, the support of Agfa’s account manager and engineers ensured a smooth implementation.
Powered by Musica image processing, the DR 600 room is suited to busy care environments. Technologies such as ZeroForce manoeuvrability as well as auto-positioning and auto-tracking enhance the experience for patients and operators.
The mobile DR 100s combines fast DR imaging with manoeuvrability and ease of use for seamless bedside and out-of-department imaging.
