Broomfield’s CT features 3D dose reduction

Toshiba Medical Systems account executive Colin Pellow, radiographers Kathryn Ross, Vicky Greenbury and Rebecca Denney and lead CT radiographer Stuart Craig.

Broomfield Hospital, part of Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, has invested in an Aquilion CXL 128-slice cardiac CT system with AIDR-3D, Toshiba’s latest dose reduction software.  Broomfield was the first NHS hospital to take delivery of this system with the new software.

The equipment joins an existing Aquilion CX CT scanner, with both systems connected to a Vitrea Enterprise Suite thin-client solution for post CT reporting.

Dr Peng Lee said: “We selected the Aquilion CXL because we already had a Toshiba scanner and have been pleased with its performance.  In addition, we have always enjoyed excellent and prompt service from Toshiba and that is a very important factor for us.”
