BSIR 2018 annual meeting
The 2018 Annual Meeting of the British Society of Interventional Radiology was held in Bournemouth on November 14-16. After feedback from previous meetings there was an increase in the range of masterclasses and workshops on offer this year, along with new ‘fundamental sessions’ on a variety of topics.
The BSIR Gold Medal was awarded to Professor Duncan Ettles from Hull Royal Infirmary. The Graham Plant Lecture was given by Dr Alex Barnacle from Great Ormond Street Hospital on ‘Paediatric IR: The adolescent years’ while The Wattie-Fletcher Lecture was given by Dr Nigel Hacking from Southampton General Hospital and was entitled ‘Thinking outside the box’.

BSIR 2019 will take place at Manchester Central on November 13-15.
