Dr John Buscombe, clinical lead and consultant in the department of nuclear medicine at Cambridge University Hospital, was the recipient of the BIR Toshiba Mayneord Memorial award, following delivery of the memorial lecture ‘Exploring the nature of altheroma in-vivo using PET’ at UKRC.  The award was presented by BIR president elect Dr David Wilson.

The annual award made to an individual or a group of collaborators in recognition of recent or current contributions in the field of radiology.

Toshiba Medical Systems UK managing director Mark Hitchman said: “Dr Buscombe has made a tremendous contribution to the field of PET imaging and we are delighted that his dedication to this research has been recognised.”
