C-arm rises to the challenge at Merlin Park

Xograph Healthcare has completed the handover of a Ziehm Vision R SmartVascular mobile C-arm to Merlin Park Hospital, Galway.  With a powerful high frequency x-ray generator and rotating anode x-ray tube, the system combines the convenience and versatility of a mobile platform with advanced vascular imaging capabilities similar to fixed angiography installations.

Interventional radiologist Derek Lohan said: “Following a detailed tender process that evaluated each of the major vendors, the Ziehm Vision R stood out as the ideal C-arm unit for our busy vascular interventional service.  Equipped with a wide range of vascular imaging features, this 31cm image intensifier reliably produces superior image quality in the most challenging clinical scenarios and with dose minimisation in mind.

“High-contrast LCD displays on the C-arm and mobile monitor cart allow for appropriate positioning of both components without obstruction of view.”
