Canon goes beyond with latest ultrasound platform

BMUS Expo, News
Aplio beyond

Canon Medical Systems UK will showcase the new Aplio beyond ultrasound platform. On the stand, the company’s experts will highlight how its advanced capabilities can support a wide range of clinical applications. Visitors will also be able to attend an on-stand education session, offering insights from a leading voice in the field.

Designed for modern ultrasound departments, the Aplio beyond delivers high performance capabilities for routine and specialised imaging and is powered by Canon’s iBeam+ imaging engine. Its AI-enabled tools support efficient workflows while an ergonomic, sustainable design is said to boost productivity and reduce operator strain.

The educational session forms part of the company’s commitment to supporting ultrasound professionals with quality training and guidance. Through the Canon Medical Academy, online and face-to-face education, these initiatives demonstrate how clinicians can remain confident, skilled and engaged in their roles, Canon says.

Ultrasound director Stuart Mills commented: “Being at BMUS gives us a great opportunity to meet with clinicians and explore how our latest solutions can support them. The new Aplio beyond offers exciting possibilities for ultrasound practice and we are excited to showcase this at the event.”

Prior to its market launch, the system was thoroughly tested at several clinical sites, including Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London. Senior consultant Professor Adrian Lim said: “The Aplio beyond punches well above its weight for a scanner in its class. The image resolution, probe quality and advanced applications approximate to that of a premium high end scanner. In particular, the performance of the new convex probe and the advanced Precision+ Fine Processing levels for the high frequency transducers stand out.”
