Cardiff PET centre chooses advanced dosemeter for personal monitoring

Trudose personal dosemeter

Thermo Fisher Scientific has replaced the EPD-MK2 dosemeter with the new Trudose that has the advantage of a large clear display and simple user interface, combined with functionalities for wireless and pulsed radiation fields.

When used with Radsight software the system becomes a powerful but simple to use issue/receipt/dose record/ reporting system and has H*10 and H*0.07 reporting capabilities. Radsight also interfaces to the EPD-MK2 units so it simultaneously works with new and older dosemeters.

At the Wales Research and Diagnostic PET Imaging Centre the Radsight software browser capabilities have allowed for three connected issue/return stations to be set up, simplifying the provision of dose monitoring at these three sites and with combined database characteristics.

Director of the centre Professor Chris Marshall said: “We chose this system as the dosemeter is technically very advanced and, in combination with Radsight software, it provides very simple workflow for staff necessitating minimal training for system deployment. Thus far we have been very pleased with this new state-of-the-art system.”

Trudose is distributed in the UK by Phoenix Dosimetry.
