Charities provide three M-Turbo systems for QEII

The Vicki Adkins Breast Unit at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City is now using three SonoSite M-Turbo point-of-care ultrasound systems.

Consultant breast surgeon Peter Crane said: “We relied on three older instruments to supplement the service we received from radiology and needed to upgrade.  Through the Hertfordshire Breast Unit Appeal and the Hospital’s League of Friends, we were able to buy the M-Turbos.

“Price, portability and ease-of-use were the things that attracted us to SonoSite.  We hadn’t appreciated how good the system’s image quality was.  It is dramatically better than our previous machines, allowing non-radiology specialists to perform diagnostic ultrasound with increased confidence.  Patients can leave their initial consultation knowing what the results of the ultrasound are likely to be, often having received immediate reassurance.”
