The Society of Radiographers’ executive director for professional policy Charlotte Beardmore has been awarded an honorary doctorate from St George’s, University of London.
Beardmore was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Science degree for services to radiography, during a ceremony in July. She received the award as part of the university’s graduation ceremony for its diagnostic and therapeutic radiography students.
“I am delighted and honoured to be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from St George’s, University of London, for services to radiography,” she said. “This means so much to me, and to be awarded this on the day both the diagnostic and therapeutic radiography students at St George’s had their degrees conferred and fellow allied health professionals Tracy Nichols, ceo of the College of Paramedics, and Preet Chandi, physiotherapist, army officer and explorer, also received honorary doctorates, made this very special.
“I really enjoy my career as a radiographer, having the opportunity to lead, support and influence the development of radiography practice in the UK and across Europe through my roles both within The Society and College of Radiographers and with the European Federation of Radiographer Societies.
“Throughout my career and to date, I continue to be supported by the excellent radiography workforce through our membership and by the team at The Society and College of Radiographers.”
