Lead radiographer at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Andrea Booth has seen many changes during her career, much of which has been spent in the hospital’s breast imaging unit.  The latest development is the installation of a fourth piece of Hologic mammography equipment, adding to two Hologic Selenia mobile screening units and a static unit.

Currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, the department installed its first piece of Hologic equipment in 2009.  The breast imaging unit is now totally digital, with the installation of a Hologic Selenia Dimensions 2D mammography unit and AWS 8000 acquisition workstation.

“Hologic offers great image quality as well as reliability and it is a design that patients and staff find comfortable,” said Booth. “Our priority is to make sure our patients have access to the best diagnostic equipment, so we can provide them with the best possible care and make sure they are diagnosed effectively.”
