Children’s Health Ireland has taken delivery of a Shimadzu Radspeed Pro Style edition x-ray room and Canon OneShot stitching frame supplied by Hospital Services Limited. The installation will enable the x-ray department to have a dedicated room for chest imaging and long-length examination on the Canon OneShot DR frame. The frame is said to offer several advantages over standard image stitching including a removable grid for paediatrics, one-shot imaging, better patient safety and lower necessity for repeats.

Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin is an acute paediatric teaching hospital employing approximately 1,900 WTE staff. It is responsible nationally for the provision of most quaternary and tertiary healthcare services for children. The hospital also provides secondary care for the local catchment area.

It is the national centre in Ireland for a range of specialities including children’s childhood cancers and blood disorders, cardiac diseases, major burns, cystic fibrosis and rheumatology.
