Clinicians strengthen their skills at rheumatology study day

A group of GE customers learned about ultrasound in rheumatology.

GE Healthcare held a customer study day focused on rheumatology at Salford Royal, Manchester.  The one-day course was designed for rheumatologists who are starting to incorporate ultrasound into their everyday clinical list, as well as those who have intermediate ultrasound skills and wish to enhance their knowledge and technique.  It involved faculty-led central presentations followed by hands-on sessions with patients.  Fourteen attendees included rheumatologists and sonographers from across the country.

“Ultrasound is becoming essential in the management of most rheumatic diseases, especially inflammatory arthritis,” said consultant rheumatologist and clinical director for rheumatology Cristina Estrach from Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool.

“Study days like these provide a unique opportunity for all the members of a rheumatology team to experience this exciting imaging technique for themselves in a relaxed and friendly environment.”
