Cloud IT offers healthcare organisations more modern and manageable clinical systems

Radiotherapy centres use clinical systems including oncology information and treatment planning systems to plan and deliver treatment. However, according to Quadris, the infrastructure supporting these tools is often under pressure, especially with ageing hardware, rising support costs and the growing need for 24/7 availability.
Quadris Cloud is said to be helping organisations like The Christie, Manchester, and The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Wirral, move to a more modern, manageable model. The company says the UK-based cloud platform offers 99.99 per cent uptime, NHS-compliant security and performance tuned specifically for oncology workloads.
At Clatterbridge, the shift away from a legacy VMware set-up to Quadris Cloud allowed for a smooth migration with no downtime and the flexibility to scale resources during critical upgrades.
The Christie has seen improved speed across planning tools, Quadris reports, with lower infrastructure overheads and round-the-clock support from a team that understands healthcare environments.
The system requires fewer updates and patches, delivering better system resilience and more time to focus on patient-facing priorities. Costs are easier to predict due to a fixed-pricing model.
