Creator of online MRI resource wins regional SOR accolade

MRI superintendent Rejosh George at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust has been named Radiography Professional of the Year for the south-east region, by The Society of Radiographers.

The award recognised George for creating a dedicated online educational and learning resource for radiographers seeking to learn about MRI. George has worked for 12 years to produce a comprehensive reference and study guide for imaging human anatomy.

The mrimaster.com website attracts more than 300,000 visitors a month and aims to provide a valuable resource for everyone, whether they are an MRI  professional, radiography student, radiologist, medical student or simply a curious individual.

George said: “It all started as a blog and grew from there. There is a desperate shortage of radiographers in the UK, so we need to do all we can to make it more accessible. There are no formal training, examination or qualifications for MRI, and the demands of the job mean we can only train two people at a time over a year-long period.”
