Custom-made follicle package makes scanning easier

Calderdale Royal Hospital, West Yorkshire, has installed a customised Toshiba Aplio 300 ultrasound system to be used specifically in the assisted conception unit. Unit clinical lead nurse Helen Marvel said: “With the better image quality and the custom-made follicle package, the machine has made scanning the high number of women visiting the department faster and easier than before. This makes for lower waiting times for already anxious patients.”
Marvel added: “The nurses and midwives using the system are particularly impressed by the image quality when scanning and counting follicles, which is very important for continuing care. Also, continual applications support is an important factor for us.”
