Cutting-edge radiotherapy is unveiled at new cancer centre

News

Cancer Partners UK Guildford centre manager Jacqui Dorney, consultant oncologist Dr Anthony Neal and Cancer Partners UK lead physicist Ignacio Di Biase.

Created and run by Cancer Partners UK, a new radiotherapy centre in Guildford is the first in the independent sector to treat patients with the Elekta Versa HD.  The equipment uses cutting-edge linac technology to provide patients with the most precisely targeted external beam radiotherapy treatment available.

As provider of advanced forms of radiotherapy in the UK, Cancer Partners UK specialises in providing external beam radiotherapy treatments including IMRT and IGRT, and the features of Versa HD are expected to expand its experience in these areas.

Lead physicist at the Guildford centre Ignacio Di Biase said: “The time and consideration we are able to offer every single patient differentiates the quality of treatment they will receive.  Empowering clinicians to deliver extremely precise beam contouring for small and large targets using ground-breaking treatments ensures our patients really will get the best of both worlds. It is very exciting.”
