Darent Valley welcomes CT scanner and plans cardiac service

Radiology general manager Felicity Canning, director of operations Pam Dhesi, project manager Avtar Verdee and Siemens regional sales manager Laura Howarth.
Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford has installed a Siemens Definition Edge dual energy, single source, 128-slice CT scanner to replace a Somatom 16-slice system that had been in service for more than 13 years.
CT superintendent Jackie O’Brien said: “With input from our own radiologists and support from Siemens application specialists, we are continually assessing image quality using protocols designed with reductions in specific exposure factors. Although it is early days, we have been very pleased with the results so far.”
