Davies appoints head of diagnostic imaging

Radiologist Andy Holdsworth has been named head Davies Veterinary Services diagnostic imaging service. He graduated from the University of Bristol in 2009 and worked in a small animal first opinion practice in Nottingham before completing a one-year rotating small animal internship at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists. During this time, he developed an interest in diagnostic imaging and subsequently completed a further three months working as a diagnostic imaging intern.

He went on to undertake a senior clinical training scholarship in veterinary diagnostic imaging at Langford Veterinary Services in Bristol, became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2015 and an RCVS recognised specialist in veterinary diagnostic imaging in 2016. He worked as a radiologist at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists before joining Davies in August 2021.

Based in Hertfordshire, Davies has upgraded its diagnostic capabilities with a Siemens Healthineers Magnetom Sempra MRI system and a Somatom go.All CT system. The practice has been extended to accommodate the new equipment, which is now adjacent to a viewing room that provides multiple workstations for efficient image review and reporting.
