Derby improves care for young patients

Following the success of last year’s Small Hearts of Derby Scanner Appeal, the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Derby Hospitals Charity have purchased a Philips iE33 cardiac ultrasound system for Derbyshire Children’s Hospital.
The scanner was unveiled by Mayor of the City of Derby councillor Lisa Higginbottom at an event attended by parents with babies who have already benefited from being scanned and BHF Derbyshire fundraising manager Sophie Jardine.
Jardine said: “Thanks to the support and extreme generosity of the people of Derbyshire, we are delighted the scanner is now in place at the children’s hospital to benefit babies, children and young adults. Donations were received by BHF from local trusts, foundations, groups and individuals.”
