Detailed images to extend range of MIS procedures

MP for Stourbridge Margot James opens the new angiography suite at Russells Hall Hospital.

The first of four imaging systems from Siemens Healthcare has been installed at Russells Hall Hospital, part of The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.  The Artis zee ceiling-mounted system was unveiled as part of a new angiography suite opened by MP for Stourbridge Margot James.  It will be used for a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including endovascular aortic repairs (EVAR).

“The image quality from the Artis zee angiography system is exceptional and we have already seen a difference in workflow,” said consultant radiologist Dr Alec Wolinski.  “We’re using the system for a wide range of procedures in our new angiography suite, from EVAR and angioplasties to stents and kidney procedures, and we hope that the detailed image quality will enable us to extend the range of minimally invasive procedures we can offer patients.”
