West Suffolk Hospital’s refurbished breast imaging unit was opened by Lady Robson, pictured second from left, with advanced practitioner Lisa Chadwick, superintendent radiographer/advanced practitioner Ann Hills, mammographers Lourdes Ortiz de Urbina and Mary Flack, Siemens Financial Services head of sales Chris Wilkinson, Siemens Healthcare regional sales and corporate business manager Graham Walker, mammographer Sally Leggett, deputy superintendent radiographer Sam Newton and mammographer Jane Godfrey.

West Suffolk Hospital, part of the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, is experiencing increased workflow following the installation of three static and one mobile Mammomat Inspiration FFDM systems, says Siemens Healthcare. The refurbished breast imaging unit was recently opened by Lady Robson, widow of former England and Ipswich Town football manager Sir Bobby Robson.

The installations mark the breast imaging unit’s transition to digital radiography and the hospital has reported improved image quality and smoother examinations.  Breast screening, assessments, symptomatic mammography and stereotactic biopsies and localisations are being performed on the two systems.
