A cash boost from the Friends of St Michael’s Hospital helped fund the equipment that made it possible for the x-ray department to become the first in Cornwall to have a fully digital x-ray system.

As a replacement for an old CR system, the Philips Digital Diagnost VM with portable wireless detector has increased workflow, making the x-ray room more flexible and efficient.

Senior radiographer Julia Carter said: “For us the wireless detector was vital and we found that the Philips equipment ticked all the boxes for the options we needed.”
