Discovery upgrade at UHW

The University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, has upgraded its Hologic DXA scanners supplied by Vertec Scientific.

 

The hospital has been a long-time user of the Hologic machines and now routinely uses a Discovery SL, Discovery A and Explorer DXA systems, all of which have just been upgraded to Apex 3 level.

 

Principal physicist Rebecca Pettit said: “We have used Hologic DXA scanners supplied by Vertec Scientific since 1992 and have developed a comprehensive service incorporating a fracture liaison service as well as GP direct access to DXA measurements.
