Ealing Hospital finds it simple to centre C-arms

Radiographer Roaya Zuhair, radiology assistants Marsha Thompson and Sue Wise, former account manager Philips Healthcare Amanda Barlow, student radiographer Stacy Vas, superintendent radiographer Mahluli Funi, PACS manager/radiographer Dipesh Hirani, senior radiographer Amey Sheldekar, Philips Healthcare applications specialist, mobile C-arms Akbar Rahimi, radiographer Israa Osman and senior radiographer Adarsh Kharbanda.
Ealing Hospital, part of London North West Healthcare NHS Trust, has again chosen C-arms from Philips when replacing two BV Endura systems. Designed to improve workflow, the BV Endura can handle a full range of general surgery, orthopaedic and vascular procedures, including on the spot fluoroscopy. Available with either a 9″ or 12″ image intensifier, Ealing Hospital chose the 9″ version.
PACS manager/radiographer Dipesh Hirani said: “We have had the new Philips systems for a couple of months now and they are amazing. They are similar to our old systems and they make life so much easier being lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, with a very user-friendly interface and quick start-up. They are also easy to centre, as the laser aperture helps to guide you to the centring point, thus minimising unnecessary exposures. We are finding them simple to use and when new staff join the trust it makes life easier to train them as the new image intensifiers are not complicated.”
