Eastbourne District General Hospital has taken delivery of GE Healthcare’s Senographe Pristina mammography system with an ergonomic design intended to make the experience less intimidating for women and help the radiographer position the patient with greater ease compared to previous systems.
Lead mammographer Louise Richards said: “The Pristina digital mammography system gives us much more flexibility to meet the demands of our growing service. The addition of tomosynthesis helps us to assess ladies with denser breasts and to reduce the effects of superimposition of breast tissue. This platform will enable us to upgrade with further advanced applications to expand our service.”
