Embarrassing Bodies appearance helps dispel myths

Dr Christian Jessen with deputy superintendent Sharon Hoffmeister and senior radiographer Louise Cooper.

The breast screening service at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust was featured as part of the Embarrassing Bodies TV show cancer screening special on Channel 4.  It was part of a week-long event called Stand Up To Cancer with appearances from celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Davina McCall and Alan Carr.

The Warwickshire, Solihull and Coventry service was selected as it was one of the first units to go completely digital, with the latest Philips MicroDose L30 mammography systems installed in all of the trust’s mobile screening units and at a static site.  Television star Dr Christian Jessen accompanied the team from Coventry and filmed staff and patients for the show.
