Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has purchased Canon Medical Systems’ latest Aplio i800 ultrasound system to be used for a wide variety of outpatients examinations, including ENT work and thyroid biopsies.  The scanner replaced a five-year old Aplio MX in the elective care centre at the hospital.

Ultrasound manager Helen Campbell said: “We are very pleased with the new i-Series.  The system is used by consultants for ENT work and they are especially impressed with the image quality obtained.  SMI technology is included as standard, which also contributes to the superior image quality.”
