Philips Healthcare project manager Cath Sellwood, senior cardiac physiologist Richard Holborow, consultant cardiologist Dr Tim Kinnard, consultant radiologist Jane Rudd, entertainer Max Boyce MBE, radiology manager Rachel Bartley, hospital director Sarah Lloyd-Davies and Philips account manager Jane Robinson.

Welsh entertainer Max Boyce has thanked the clinical team at Spire Cardiff Hospital for saving his life.  The 70-year old, who underwent quadruple bypass surgery in June last year, officially unveiled a Philips cardiac catheterisation suite.

He was the first patient to have a diagnostic examination at the hospital using the new equipment, after complaining of feeling unwell and suffering from the physical strains of touring earlier in the year.

Spire’s hospital director Sarah Lloyd-Davies said: “We hope we’ll be able to make a difference to people’s health in South Wales and further afield.  The equipment was the preferred option for both our cardiologist and interventional radiologist, who are truly delighted with the technology.”
