Expansion for Leicester’s direct access MRI

Leicester’s hospitals, in partnership with InHealth, have expanded their local community MRI service.  Previously, patients needing scans had to visit one of Leicester’s hospitals; now scans take place in the community.

 

GP Direct Access provides a community MRI service two days a week from the MRI facilities base at Syston Health Centre and Leicester Hospital sites.  Services started in August are readily available for all GP referrals.  Reporting is provided predominantly by local radiologists and sent to the referring clinician three days after the scan.
