Experts consider whether the NHS can go paperless

Panellists at UK e-Health Week were asked whether a paperless NHS by 2020 is feasible during the event at London’s Olympia.  They all agreed on the importance of digitising clinical information and that the NHS still needs to make large strides in the next four years to get there.

Lexmark Healthcare international manager of pre-sales engineering Dominic Kirkman urged the NHS to learn from those have already gone digital: “The NHS needs to look within the system at areas that already have electronic workflows.  Also, you can look across Europe at places like the Nordics and the Netherlands.”
