Extreme medicine practitioners appreciate portable ultrasound

GE Healthcare point-of-care ultrasound UK sales manager Alistair Wood receives the company’s award from Extreme Medicine founder and managing director Mark Hannaford.

At the recent World Extreme Medicine conference and expo at the Royal Society of Medicine in London, GE Healthcare received an award for product and company of the year in recognition of the innovative role Vscan with Dual Probe can play in extreme medicine.

Presented by Extreme Medicine founder and managing director Mark Hannaford, the award is given to the “company or organisation that has made an exceptional impact on extreme medicine, one that has strived to excel and has set new standards in its fields of expertise whether it is in research, product or leadership.”

The award was accepted on behalf of GE Healthcare by point-of-care ultrasound UK sales manager Alistair Wood, who said: “The Vscan with Dual Probe is proving to be very popular amongst clinicians in the pre-hospital environment.  I demonstrated the system at the meeting and received a great deal of interest from emergency physicians, expedition medics and role 1 military doctors who man the regimental first aid post – all appreciated the portability and image quality.”
