Northampton General Hospital has received a 128 Ingenuity CT scanner from Philips Healthcare as a replacement for its existing 16-slice system. The equipment comes with advanced software packages including cardiac imaging, Philips’ IntelliSpace portal and O-MAR metal artefacts reduction technology.
Superintendent radiographer CT/MRI Amanda North explained: “The new scanner was installed as a replacement for our old system, and was selected for its familiar user interface, which made training very straightforward. It offers shorter scan times with an increase in resolution and, at the same time, a lower dose. We also purchased the Ingenuity system for its cardiac capabilities.”
