MR lead radiographer Dr Cynthia Eccles and lead research radiographer Dr Helen McNair with Evening Standard health editor Ross Lydall.

On the eve of The International Day of Radiography, an important milestone in the clinical implementation of the UK’s first MR-linac took place when healthy volunteer Ross Lydall of the Evening Standard was imaged as part of The Royal Marsden and Institute of Cancer Research’s (ICR) imaging only PRIMER study.

On being asked about the experience, Ross Lydall said: “It was an honour to be the first healthy volunteer and amazing to be immersed in technology like this and understand how my images will help research.  I’m happy to have helped people with cancer who may need this machine as a part of their treatment in the future.”
