The clinical imaging facility at Swansea University’s Institute of Life Science has installed a Magnetom Skyra 3.0T MRI system from Siemens Healthcare.  The phase two development was officially opened by First Minister of Wales Rt Hon Carwyn Jones, who viewed the system during his visit to the pioneering medical research facilities.

“We have been very impressed with the Magnetom Skyra,” said superintendent research radiographer Paola Griffiths. “It has already proved a successful, user-friendly addition to our facilities.  We are enjoying excellent image quality.  The ergonomic design is well executed and the wide bore is subject friendly.

“We have also found the Siemens Healthcare clinical application specialists to be very knowledgeable and helpful.”
