First of five Agfa DR rooms ready for Airedale NHS Foundation Trust

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust is installing five DR 600 x-ray rooms across multiple sites this year, and the first has been completed at the trust’s main site, Airedale General Hospital in Keighley.
Agfa Radiology Solutions’ DR 600 is a ceiling-suspended, fully automated direct radiography system that delivers advanced workflow ergonomics and image quality. Technologies such as ZeroForce manoeuvrability as well as auto-positioning and auto-tracking are said to enhance the experience of patients and operators. Agfa’s latest generation Musica image processing software provides ‘right first time’ imaging, reducing retakes and supporting ALARA principles for radiation doses.

Agfa Radiology Solutions sales leader for northern Europe Joshua Akin-George said: “While the trust had limited experience with Agfa’s legacy systems, we were able to demonstrate our commitment to offering solutions and services that matched its requirements. The robust design and radiographer-focused workflow of the DR 600 played a key role in meeting the trust’s expectations.”
Airedale General is a 400-bed hospital, which employs 2,900 staff and treats around 50,000 patients in A&E and approximately 150,000 patients in other areas each year.
The multi-site installation of the five DR rooms is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
