Fitzrovia diagnostic centre creates a more open environment with help of dedicated MRI scanner

InHealth’s Fitzrovia Community Diagnostic Centre is now welcoming patients following almost a year of building and refurbishment works. The centre is located across two floors, where previously all services were provided from the lower ground floor. The new layout and the installation of Esaote’s Magnifico Open MRI scanner will make a difference to patients who find smaller spaces challenging. The centre will welcome hundreds of patients each month, including through its private patient brand Vista Health, providing diagnostic services for this location.

Clinical service manager Isha Yadav said: “We are really pleased to be the first site in the UK to have installed Esaote’s latest MRI release, the Magnifico Open. In recent times we have noticed an increase in the number or referrals from patients suffering from claustrophobia. The Magnifico Open is the ideal system to supplement our existing scanner and help to grow our service. We were very impressed with the image quality and were delighted with the cost effectiveness of the system and how easy it was to install.

The system is equipped with technologies such as: Speed Up to assure optimal image quality in reduced examination times; True-Motion real-time imaging that offers a complementary approach to standard MRI for a comprehensive clinical and diagnostic picture, particularly in high level sports medicine; and MAR (metal artefact reduction) for high quality post-surgical imaging. The open magnet and easy-to-access patient table facilitate fast and comfortable patient positioning, and is suitable for claustrophobic patients and children. Esaote says Magnifico Open can also meet the demand to save energy.
