Five probes offer scanning options

At North Tyneside General Hospital, attending a Toshiba mini systems training course, are sonographers Lynn Ash, trust lead sonographer Judith Cobb, sonographer Julie Innis, student sonographer Jo Fishburn and sonographers Elaine Holroyd and Cara O’Keefe.
Northumbria Healthcare Trust has purchased two Toshiba Aplio 400 ultrasound systems, one for the radiology department at North Tyneside General Hospital and the other for the radiology department at Wansbeck General Hospital. Both scanners came with a five-probe configuration to allow scanning of abdominal, vascular, breast and MSK.
Trust lead sonographer Judith Cobb said: “The image quality we are obtaining is excellent and the systems are very user-friendly. This is an important consideration for us as our trust covers a large geographical area and staff conduct scans at many hospitals and clinics. The ease of use means that our sonographers and consultants are able to scan with confidence.”
