Colchester General Hospital will be able to undertake various fluoroscopy procedures including cystograms, barium swallows and arthograms with its recently purchased a Toshiba Ultimax-i x-ray fluoroscopy solution with overhead tube crane and vertical chest stand.

Advanced practitioner radiographer David Haggerty said: “We are a busy district general radiology department where space is at a premium.  When replacing the existing equipment it was vital to have something that offered the ability to deal with a wide spectrum of procedures, with specific requirements for paediatric cases, upper GI work, video fluoroscopy, and assisting our interventional radiology suite.

“The room is also required to act as an overflow source to deal with our high A&E and inpatient workload.  The Toshiba Ultimax-i was the only system able to meet these criteria.”
