Edinburgh Royal Infirmary has purchased a Philips BV Pulsera surgical C-arm for vascular work, to be used primarily for combined surgical/radiology cases where the patient can benefit from one procedure instead of two.  The new system replaced a ten-year old C-arm.

Superintendent radiographer Joan Ritchie said, “We particularly like the system’s manoeuvrability with the folding monitors on the mobile view station that enable us to see where we are going when moving it in busy hospital corridors.  We find we can steer the actual C-arm into the tightest of spots and position it right where it is needed quickly and efficiently.”
