Following demand, Kanal’s MR Safety Training Course is set to return

Kanal’s 3rd European MR Safety Officer/MR Medical Director (MRSO/MRMD) course will be held in London in June. This international course is proving very popular. Since the launch of the course in 2014, more than 7,000 radiographers, technologists, radiologists, and MR associated staff have attended Kanal’s MR safety training programme.

Kanal’s MRSO/MRMD course is a three-day event designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the distinct energies used in MRI and to equip them with essential and fundamental MRI safety knowledge. The potential safety concerns of the electromagnetic fields and how to mitigate those concerns will be discussed. Kanal will describe how to assess the risk versus benefit for any requested MRI exam and explain the Kanal Method for implant safety analysis which will aid clinical decision-making to reduce risks to a clinically acceptable level.

Dr Kanal has sought to improve MR safety practices and decision making throughout the world, by teaching the physics underlying the MR imaging process and how to apply it safely clinically. As a consultant to industry, Dr Kanal has been involved in the design and implementation of MRI hardware, software, and MRI contrast agents. Dr Kanal is also a professor of radiology and neuroradiology and author of one of the most comprehensive clinical MR tutor/simulator software apps created, which is used extensively in his courses.

This will be a unique learning experience and a wonderful opportunity to network with colleagues and industry partners alike. As well as 20 hours of detailed lectures, selected post course slides and hot buffet lunches and refreshments will be provided along with a vendors’ exhibition. The exhibition and all breaks will be held in the beautiful hotel conservatory.
