Fresh iteration of Cris software promises smarter workflows

Radiology departments across the NHS continue to face growing demand, workforce pressures and increasingly complex reporting requirements. Health technology company Magentus says that meeting these challenges requires digital systems that connect teams, reduce duplication and make it easier for clinicians to focus on patient care.

The next major release of the company’s radiology information system, Cris v3, has been developed with these needs in mind. Built in partnership with NHS radiology professionals, it is said to reflect a shared understanding of the pressures departments face and the role technology can play in easing them.
The update introduces a new generation of web-based applications designed to simplify and modernise radiology workflows. The new Vetting and Reporting apps make it easier for radiologists to manage requests and reports from anywhere, using dashboards and configurable worklists that reflect clinical priorities. By improving visibility and access, they enable faster decision making, better collaboration and a more consistent patient pathway, Magentus says. This release of Cris provides a foundation for future tools, including the web-based Scheduler app that automates prioritisation and booking workflows to reduce delays and improve access for patients.

Magentus says this is also the foundation for supporting the NHS’s move towards connected imaging networks. As the NHS continues its journey toward integrated imaging networks and greater digital connectivity, Magentus is investing in the infrastructure that makes this possible.

Cris v3 has been engineered to enable future flexibility to meet new national requirements as they arise, such as the Diagnostic Imaging Data Set 2.0 and readiness for the National Imaging Registry.
