Frimley Park Hospital has replaced a 10-year-old mammography system and installed a second mammography system, both with Hologic Selenia Dimensions technology.

Funded by the hospital’s charity as part of its breast care appeal, the second system offers the ability to perform 3D Mammography examinations and breast biopsy procedures.  The unit is also introducing two more services, vacuum assisted breast biopsy with the ATEC breast biopsy and excision system and contrast enhanced mammography using Hologic I-View software.

Consultant radiologist Dr Fiona Hearn said: “This is a very exciting time for us at Frimley Park.  As we move towards providing a dedicated breast unit at the hospital, we now have equipment that enables us to provide the best possible outcomes for patients.”
