Fujifilm launches CPD programme for radiography and mammography

Fujifilm’s CPD programme is back, with sessions that can be delivered either in departments or online, depending on site requirements and preference.

The programme is fully accredited with The College of Radiographers’ CPD Now certification and is available to any radiography or mammography department in the UK free of charge. All sessions are scheduled at a time and location to suit the department and there is no requirement to be a Fujifilm customer.

The women’s health team has joined the CPD programme this year, having already hosted eLearning sessions during the previous lockdown. Two new CPD Now accredited sessions are intended for mammographers, practitioners and mammography assistants.

The radiography session will cover ‘Digital imaging 2020’ by examining how developments in technology are influencing radiography now and changing the way we will work in the future. There are two mammography sessions available: ‘Innovative technology in mammography’ looks at how technology and techniques have evolved and what the future holds for advanced clinical practice while ‘Early detection in breast screening’ examines how tomosynthesis and patient comfort may impact screening services in the future.

Fujifilm’s CPD programme has delivered content to more than 900 radiology professionals across the UK since its launch in 2018. Feedback has been positive, including: “Thanks for coming in, it’s rare to have a presentation that everyone enjoyed,” and “We enjoyed the session – good to know what the future holds for us.”

Fujifilm Medical Systems UK general manager Adrian Waller said: “Fujifilm is dedicated to promoting a culture that encourages education and learning across the industry. We have introduced new mammography CPD sessions this year, and we have plans to look at the other areas of our business for future topics.”
