University Hospital Galway has received a Shimadzu MobileDaRt Evolution EFX from Hospital Services Limited. It is part of Galway University Hospitals (GUH) along with Merlin Park University Hospital which provides a comprehensive range of services to emergency and elective patients on an inpatient, outpatient and daycare basis.
Radiology services manager Susan Coyle said: “We are delighted to have taken delivery of our new Shimadzu Mobile EFX DaRt. It will make a massive difference within our hospital in terms of image quality, reduced dose and higher patient throughput.
“The system will be predominantly based in the ICU where we will now have the ability to acquire digital images within two seconds. This is a fantastic advantage compared to our older systems, as the consultants can view the images at the bedside if needed.”
